Tim Hortons donated $5,574 raised during its last Smile Cookie campaign to BGC Thompson on Dec. 16. The club will use the money to help pay for food for its after-school program, which provides participants with a snack and supper five days a week. Started in 1996 to raise money for the Hamilton Children’s Hospital, the Smile Cookie campaign raised an all-time record of $12.2 million in 2021, which will help support 600 local charities and community groups across Canada. Since it began, the fundraising initiative has brought in and distributed over $75 million.
