Eighteen-year-old Jacqueline Brightnose has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the May 30 killing of her father Allan David Pronteau. Brightnose is in custody and was to appear in provincial court in Thompson May 31.
Pronteau was found Wednesday at about 12:30 a.m. at 15 Duke Place in the Eastwood area. Thompson RCMP responded to a call for assistance at a residence in the Eastwood area of Thompson, said Sgt. Line Karpish, RCMP "D" Division media spokesperson in Winnipeg.
A 42-year-old male was found injured in a residence and transported to hospital where he "succumbed to his injuries," Karpish said.
An autopsy will take place in Winnipeg. Details of when the autopsy will take place are still being confirmed, Karpish said.
The Thompson detachment of the RCMP, along with major crime services, the North District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Teamand the forensic identification section continue to investigate, Karpish said.
