A $5,900 donation from 100 Women Who Care Thompson was nearly the perfect amount at the perfect time for T2 Thompson Toddlers Day Care to deal with a rough patch of parking lot.
The day care presented to the local organization of women who pool their funds to make donations to local organizations four times a year during their September meeting. The presentation came the same day that T2 got a quote for asphalt repairs.
“Over time our parking lot near the building became worn and torn,” said T2 executive director Amanda Carrigan. “It was a huge hazard to those who walked it while trying to access the building. Due to the pandemic, fundraising was at a standstill for awhile. We didn’t have the funds to pay for this repair but we knew that it absolutely needed to be a priority. Their generous donation made this possible. it was perfect timing.”
Knowing that the money would be put to use right away was what helped sway 100 Women’s members, who vote on three possible recipients who make presentations to their quarterly meetings.
“The contractors were in town so they needed it done yesterday,” said Kim Rudolph of 100 Women Who Care.
