Postal carriers are known for making their rounds in all kinds of weather, but the massive dump of snow that Thompson received from Tuesday afternoon to Wednesday morning kept them off the job, but only for a day.
Canada Post said shortly before 1 p.m. March 16 that it had upgraded its red service alert for Thompson to a yellow service alert.
“A yellow service alert means we are going to do our best to deliver, but there may be delays.” said a notice from Janick Cormier of Canada Post’s media relations department.
Canada Post says Thompson residents can help make mail delivery easier by clearing ice and snow from driveways, walkways and stairs to ensure safe access to their mailbox or their door when delivery resumes.
