Moose Lake RCMP seize drugs and cash following bear mace incident

On the morning of May 19, Moose Lake RCMP responded to a report of an assault with a weapon.

After arriving at a Poplar Street residence, officers discovered that a 20-year old male had been sprayed with bear mace and transported him to hospital for treatment.

Later in the day, police arrested the suspect, 20-year old Michael Campbell of Moose Lake, at a nearby residence.

During a search, police discovered approximately 33 grams of cocaine and a large sum of Canadian currency.

Campbell is being charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, resisting arrest and assault with a weapon.

Campbell was later released from custody and ordered to appear in provincial court in The Pas June 4.
