Thompson Fire & Emergency Services firefighters extinguished a shed fire on Queens Bay that partially burned a nearby garage and fence in the early morning July 13. “Fortunately a prompt response and fast attack on the fire quickly brought the situation under control,” said the Thompson Professional Firefighters Association on their Facebook page. The TPFFA also responded to posted questions about why the hydrant they used to fight the fire was seen leaking from the bottom in one of their photos. “The hydrant pictured had a partial seal failure,” said the TPFFA. “Firefighting efforts where not hindered as enough water was still available. Firefighters are trained to deal with partial and complete failures of any hydrant and any interruption from such would have minimal impact on our efforts.”
