Thompson RCMP arrested three people on suspicion of impaired driving over four days May 28-31, including two who provided breath samples more than three times the legal limit while driving.
A 48-year-old woman from Thompson was stopped near the intersection of Mystery Lake Road and Burntwood Road around 4:30 p.m. May 28 after police received a report of a vehicle cutting another vehicle off and almost running someone over on Highway 6 near the landfill south of Thompson. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and later provided breath samples that were nearly 3.5 times the legal limit for blood alcohol content while driving of .08. She was later released with a notice to appear in court and her vehicle was impounded for 60 days.
On May 31, an erratic driver on Waterloo Avenue honking their horn and listening to loud music in a parking lot was reported to police around 5 a.m. RCMP located the vehicle and arrested the 30-year-old man from Thompson who was driving. He later provided breath samples that were more than 3.5 times the legal limit. His car was impounded for 60 days and he was released to appear in court at a later date.
Police on patrol by the Thompson Liquor Mart around 5 p.m. May 29 pulled over a vehicle and arrested the driver on suspicion of impaired driving. The driver failed a roadside screening test and their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days. RCMP also impounded the vehicle for 30 days.
