Angela Bakos was the top finisher among Thompsonites in the half-marathon event at the 2009 Manitoba Marathon, finishing the 21-kilometre route in 1:36:22, 101st overall.
Don Wood was Thompson's top male runner, running the route in 1:41:35 to cross the line in 196th place.
Brian Clace, 55, was the oldest resident of the Nickel City to complete the half-marathon, crossing the finish line in 2:17:37, while Cory Bertram was the youngest Thompsonite in that event, with a time of 2:00:28.
Eight people from Thompson competed in the super run, including eight-year-old Tressa McDonald, who finished in 36:09 and Harold MacDonald, whose time was 34:21.
Charlotte McIvor, Paul Therrien and Cristina Zelaya of Thompson took part in the 10-kilometre walk.
No runners from Thompson were entered in the full marathon, which saw Justin Weenusk, 32, of Oxford House, finish 13th overall in a time of 3:07:12, the third-best time in his age group.
