The Norman Northstars lost two games to the Winnipeg Bruins at the C.A. Nesbitt Arena Feb. 1-2.
Saturday’s game was a 7-1 loss, with the Northstars’ lone goal by Albert Sinclair in the first period. The Bruins’ Ethan Williment, a former Thompson King Miner, scored a hat trick for the visitors. There was plenty of end-to-end action as the Northstars struggled to match the speed and agility of the Bruins.
Sunday afternoon’s game was a more balanced effort for the Northstars, who led 4-2 at the end of the second period, only to allow four Bruins goals in the third period and lose 6-4. Sinclair, Blake Lahonen, Dredyn Robinson and Ryan Monias scored for the Northstars.
The Northstars are on home ice again Feb. 8-9 as they take on the Pembina Valley Hawks. Games are at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
