Thompson product Jennifer Saunders fell one win short of a championship at the Racquetball Canada national team selection event in Vernon, B.C. Nov 24-26.
Frédérique Lambert defeated Saunders 15-6, 15-4 in the women’s open final to take the title. Saunders began the tournament with a 15-5, 15-7 victory over Erin Geeraert of Calgary in the quarterfinals and then defeated Christine Richardson of Winnipeg 15-4, 4-15, 11-8 in the semifinal round.
Results from the national team selection event and other national tournaments will be used to select players to represent Canada at international racquetball tournaments in 2018.
