During the Setting Lake Wayside Park 15th annual fish derby, which took place on July 25 to 26 from Wayside Park in Wabowden, there were three categories contestants could take part in, with a chance at winning a cash prize for each category.

First: Johnny Monias
Second: Dave Monias
Third: Hilbert Mosiondz
Jackfish category:
First: Adam Benson
Second: Blair Mosiondz
Third: Rachel Becker
The Alex Jonasson Award for the total of all three species is sponsored by the Alex Jonasson family. Six contestants placed, including Cindy Jonasson, Cynthia Jonasson, Gordie Bayer, Dave Monias, Cody Jonasson and Wayne Piche, who was the winner. The furthest away entry prize was won by Richard and Darlene Mosiondz of Elkford, B.C.
