WINNIPEG — Winnipeg police say a counsellor at a youth corrections centre has been charged with sexually assaulting an incarcerated youth.

Police allege the 26-year-old counsellor formed a relationship with the youth in February.

They say the assaults happened multiple times inside the facility.

Police say staff became aware in October and filed a report with the police child abuse unit.

The woman also faces a charge of sexual exploitation.

She was arrested without incident and released under the condition she not be in contact with anyone under the age of 18.
