Coming across two men in a Flin Flon parking lot led RCMP to discover that one of them had bear spray as well as 32 grams of cocaine in his possession.
Flin Flon RCMP were patrolling around 8:45 p.m. Jan. 13 when they saw the men in the parking lot. Police stopped to speak with them and an officer saw a can of bear spray partially hidden inside one of the men’s jackets. He was arrested for possessing a weapon dangerous to the public and carrying a concealed weapon. A search of him and his vehicle uncovered 32 grams of cocaine, the bear spray, a large-capacity .22 calibre rifle magazine, cash and drug paraphernalia.
Jeffrey Giest, 67, of Flin Flon, is charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, carrying a concealed weapon, three counts of failing to comply with court-ordered conditions and multiple other offences.
