Throughout Nov. 20-21, the Norway House RCMP conducted three significant raids that resulted in the seizure of cocaine, crack cocaine and large bundles of Canadian currency.
On Nov. 20, Norway House RCMP seized individually wrapped pieces of crack cocaine and a large sum of Canadian currency after stopping and searching a vehicle belonging to a 49-year-old female and 28-year-old male from Winnipeg.
The pair was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.
As the investigation continued, police then searched a residence on Alex Duncan Drive in Norway House and discovered 113 grams of cocaine, a quantity of crack cocaine and a large sum of Canadian currency.
Ultimately, two males, ages 53 and 29, from Norway House and Winnipeg, and two females, ages 22 and 38, from Norway House, were arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.
Finally, on Nov. 21, with the help of RCMP Police Dog Services, Norway House police executed a search warrant at a residence on Roger’s Point. A significant amount of Canadian currency was located in the walls, and further investigation led officers to conclude that this money is proceeds of crime.
As a result, eight suspects are in custody and charges related to possession of property obtained by crime are pending.
According to a Nov. 22 press release, Norway House RCMP have obtained four search warrants under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act over the last few weeks.
