Manitoba Hydro customers in seven Northern Manitoba communities near the Ontario boundary are without power from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today while crews perform maintenance.
The five-hour planned outage affects about 3,100 customers in Oxford House, Gods Lake Narrows, Gods River, Red Sucker Lake, Wasagamack and St. Theresa Point and was originally scheduled for Aug. 27 but had to be postponed while the Crown utility worked to restore power knocked out by storms in other areas of the province.
“The outage is required so our crews can safely do maintenance work on the system,” said Riley McDonald of Manitoba Hydro media relations. “We’re also taking the opportunity to trim some trees near these lines.”
