Searches at a business and a residence in Thompson have led to firearms trafficking charges being laid against a 75-year-old man.
Thompson RCMP searched a business on Hayes Road and a residence on Trout Crescent on April 28 as a result of an ongoing firearms-trafficking investigation.
Numerous new and used firearms, including handguns, were seized, police say, along with cases of ammunition, other weapons and cash.
Peter Zaworonok was arrested at the scene of one of the searches and remanded into custody on firearms trafficking and other weapons offences. He was scheduled to appear in Thompson provincial court April 29. Zaworonok is the owner of Crazy Pete’s at the corner of Hayes Road and Seal Road.
Thompson RCMP continue investigating.
