Man wanted in Easterville homicide turns himself in to police

Police responded to a report of an assault Nov. 16 and found an injured man who later died at the nursing station.

A 22-year-old Chemawawin First Nation man is charged with criminal negligence causing death and other offences in connection with the Nov. 16 death of a 23-year-old Easterville man.

A 22-year-old man turned himself in to police Nov. 18 after being identified as a suspect in a Nov. 16 homicide in Easterville.

Chemawawin RCMP were called to a report of an aggravated assault at an Easterville residence around 2:35 a.m. Nov. 16 and found a 23-year-old man with life-threatening injuries. He was transported to the nursing station where he died of his injuries.

Police said they were investigaitng he death as a homicide and two days later issued a press release identifying Armando Quinton Young from Chemawawin First Nation as the subject of an arrest warrant for charges including criminal negligence causing death with a firearm, possessing a gun while prohibited and failing to comply with a release order.
